Valuable training sharpens project forwarding skills

Project forwarders working globally need more than ever to skilfully manage stakeholders from many diverse backgrounds and promote a professional image.

Portland hosts 2018 PPG annual conference

Overdimensional logistics network, Project Professionals Group’s 11th annual conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, USA, from 26-28 September next year (2018).

PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said the Port of Portland and the Port of Vancouver USA were the joint major sponsors for the event.

“The Port of Portland and the Port of Vancouver USA are both dynamic organisations and have put forward an excellent conference proposal and we thank them for their support and hospitality,” Mr Stephens said,

Mr Stephens said the 2018 conference dates had also been selected to also provide PPG members with the opportunity to visit the Breakbulk Americas conference and exhibition in Houston (2–4 October 2018), ensuring it was cost-effective to attend both events.

Mr Stephens said with the recommendation of the Port of Portland and Port of Vancouver USA the award-winning Benson Hotel had been selected as the conference venue with very attractive accommodation rates for members and guests.

Early-bird registration for project forwarding training offers big savings

Early-bird registrations for the PPG Project Cargo Forwarding Certificate from 17-18 October in Houston during the Breakbulk Americas education program – offering a saving of US$200pp – closes on August 18.

PPG appoints new members in India and Malaysia

Project cargo forwarding network Project Professionals Group has appointed three new members in Asia.

PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said MFC Transport Pvt. Ltd is the new member for Western India (Mumbai), with Tera Projects & Shipping appointed as the new member for Malaysia (Klang), and D.B. Group India Pvt. Ltd. as the new member for Northern India (New Delhi) and Eastern India (Kolkata).

Mr Stephens said all three companies are experienced over-dimensional project cargo specialists with excellent capabilities to support PPG members.

“I would like to congratulate all three companies on joining the PPG network which this year celebrates its 10thanniversary,” Mr Stephens said.

The PPG annual conference is from 6-8 September 2017 at The Langham Hotel, Melbourne, Australia.

PPG appoints new member for Northern and Eastern India

Project Professionals Group has appointed D.B. Group India Pvt. Ltd. as its new project forwarding member for both Northern and Eastern India.

PPG general manager and founder Kevin Stephens said D.B. Group India with offices in New Delhi and Kolkata was well placed to partner with network members.

“D.B. Group has an international network through its global head office and their local contacts in Northern and Eastern India will provide experienced support for PPG members,” Mr Stephens said.

Project forwarding milestone for PPG

Saturday 27 August marks the 10th year of managing the transportation of overdimensional heavy-lift cargos for the Project Professionals Group.

PPG founder and general manager Kevin Stephens said since forming the network it had attracted an experienced and trusted group of project forwarders from around the world.

“Managing high value project cargos is a specialized industry and I am very proud of the reputation our members have in meeting the needs of their clients,” Mr Stephens said.

“PPG has very loyal members and sponsors and I would like to thank them all for their support over the past 10 years.”

Mr Stephens said the network was also very appreciative of the guidance of the PPG Advisory Board chaired by Susan St Germain of TransProject LLC.

To celebrate the 10-year milestone, PPG will hold its annual conference in Australia where the organization was first formed. Melbourne will be the host city from 6-8 September, 2017.

Project cargo network appoints two new members

Overdimensional cargo transportation network, Project Professionals Group, has appointed new members representing Malawi, Jordan and Iraq.

PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said Land-Air Cargo Services is the new member for Malawi, with its head office in Lilongwe, while Golden Ways for Logistics, based in Amman, is the new member for Jordan and Iraq.

“These companies are very experienced project cargo managers in their respective regions and will provide strong representation for our network members,” Mr Stephens said.
