The PPG (Project Professionals Group) Project Cargo Forwarding Masterclass is relaunching in 2022, in conjunction with the PCB Project Cargo – Breakbulk Conference & Exhibition, to boost practical skills and improve capabilities and opportunities in the post-COVID-19 world.
This one-day course is open to anyone working in project forwarding logistics and features a series of workshops designed to support lifelong learners stay up-to-date or for new entrants to have job-ready skills.
The masterclass is scheduled for Wednesday 6th April, 2022 at the George R Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas, USA.
Course co-ordinator and founder and general manager of the Project Professionals Group Kevin Stephens said that the training offered interactive experiences to master special job skills in project forwarding.
“Whether you are launching a new career, re-entering the workforce, going after a promotion or earning a valuable career credential after the pandemic disruption this course is an important step in logistics management”
Kevin Stephens
He said the course reviews tricks of the trade in the heavy lift and project forwarding sector from both the shipper and client perspective and concludes with a hands-on case study designed to mimic a project forwarding problem as closely as practical in a training setting.
“Students are responsible for meeting a client’s requirements in a simulated authentic project management experience where they must work together to complete a variety of tasks,” Mr Stephens said. “Attendees have the opportunity to review what breakbulk businesses need and explore new ways of thinking to deliver solutions. Now is the time to invest in training to keep your workforce resilient and efficient throughout global supply chains”.
Course co-trainer Rodger Hall said attendees would also improve their business communication skills now more vital than ever following the pandemic disruption.
“Communication skills can boost networking opportunities. Whether you’re preparing an introductory email to an industry expert or messaging a LinkedIn contact for a tender referral, professional writing skills will enhance your personal and corporate brand and values.”
Rodger Hall
“Communicating what you do is an important part of being a global project forwarder. It allows you to promote your work, engage with new audiences, attract interest in your business and build your profile as an expert in your field,” Mr Hall said.
“Intercultural management and how culture influences the way people behave, particularly dealing with employees on a global level are also vital skills to successfully interact to achieve personal and business-related goals.”
